Phoebe's Drop Waist Dress by Simple Life Pattern Company

If you are a regular follower of this blog, you know that last month we introduced you to a new-to-us designer that has recently sprouted wings to create her own label. Of course, I'm referring to the amazing Katie from Simple Life Pattern Company. Fresh and fun designs are what we've seen so far, and we're really excited to see what else comes from this sweet shop! Today we have Kim and Melissa here to tell you all about Phoebe's Drop Waist Dress.

Hey all, It’s Melissa from Three Dutch Divas! I have to do a little sharing about the new Phoebe’s Drop Waist dress from Simple Life Pattern Co. This adorable dress is made using  knit and woven. I have 3 girls that range in sizes from toddler, all the way to tween. So I was excited to see, not only does the pattern come in sizes 2t-12,  but it has a range of options to suit the individual styles of children ages 2 through 12! This dress is a very quick sew, with super cute results! It can be made with a single skirt, or with a double ruffle skirt to showcase more that one fabric print! This pattern gives you the choice of long or short sleeves, with or without ruffles and even has this adorable sleeveless option that we chose! I opted to not add a neck ruffle, but that is yet another option!

I let my three year old pick out her own fabrics and I have to say that I loved her choices! I was looking for just the right dress to make her for her upcoming My Little Pony birthday party and I think this pattern was a great choice!! This dress will not only be a hit at her party, but will also make a great addition to her spring/summer wardrobe! The knit bodice makes it comfortable, the pony fabric matches the theme and that adorable bow detail in the waistband ties the whole dress together! Pun totally intended, but really…. that sweet little bow does give this dress a little something extra!

If you have already sewn up a pattern from SLPco. then you already know, they are fabulous. If you haven't tried one yet, this little gem would be the perfect place to start!

Hi, I am Kim, I blog over at  Kimmie Sew Crazy.  Today I am here to review the new dress pattern Phoebe’s Drop Waist Dress by Simple Life Pattern Co

I just happen to be part of the test group for Simple Life Patterns but have yet to test anything.  Wow, though, let me tell you every time I see one of these new patterns in process I am always head over heels for the new design.  The testers, (every tester) makes an amazing dress.  This always has me wishing I could have been part of the fun.  So when I saw the call for a review I jumped...wait, leaped at the chance!  Boy, I am so glad I did because this dress may be one of my very favorite patterns ever!  Why?  Well, can I quote Jerry Maguire and say “you had me at” only five pages to print.  Yes, just five.  I am not a very big fan of the whole process that comes along with PDF patterns (the printing, taping, tracing, cutting, more cutting).  You know, all of the added work that comes with a PDF pattern.  Well this pattern cuts or at least shortens a lot of that out and that means more time sewing to me.  The instructions are also very quick, short and clear.  I think a beginner will be able to sew this dress up without a problem

All of this added time sewing means more dresses.  So I made two : ).  An Easter dress and a fun summer dress.  The Phoebe’s Drop Waist Dress has a bunch of options;  Sleeveless, short sleeves, long sleeves, tiered skirt, added ruffles to the neckline and sleeves.  I am sure I am missing something : ).  The bodice of this pattern is knit and Katie gives some great advice on sewing with knits.  The skirt is in woven.  And did you see the bow on the waistband!?!

Once you sew up your Phoebe make sure to share your creation in the Simple Life Pattern Group!
