Introducing Our Newest Team Members-Lullaby Line Knotted Gown and Zipster Romper by Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop
/Our team is always busy making things here at Pattern Revolution, but a few of our lady's have been especially productive so far this year! Rebekah and Larissa welcomed their new little ones to the family in January, which means they joined the Pattern Revolution family as well. We are so over-the-moon happy for Rebekah and Larissa and cannot wait to see these sweet little faces on the blog in the future. Today, they are making their debut appearances and showing off a couple of the adorable patterns in the the Peek-A-Boo Patterns Lullaby Line. Welcome to the PR family Abigail and Zachary, we are so happy to have you here!
Rebekah and Baby Abigail
Hey everyone! As many of you have known I was expecting a little bundle of pink in January. Well my baby girl, Abigail Jean, was born on 1/10/17 after a quick and perfect labor. This girl must have really wanted to be born on January 10th as she came into this world with just 58 seconds to spare. Yes, she was born at 11:59pm weighing 7lbs 10oz and 20.5 inches long. With her blonde hair and blue eyes, she is the spitting image of her Daddy. It’s a good thing he’s pretty cute too! The only thing I apparently gave her was her belly button!
She is such a good baby so far. She loves her family, snuggling, playing with her tongue, and eating her hand. Her siblings are just over the moon with her too, and have been such great helpers. I am sew excited to be able to sew for this little girl. After all who doesn’t love making tiny girly clothes? And now it can get even more fun with matching sister outfits for her and Ruth too!
One of my favorite things to sew for babes is knits. They are soft and easy, breathable and comfy. Just perfect to be next to sensitive baby skin. When the Lullaby Line Knotted Gown by Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop released, I just knew I had to sew it up. It just looked so warm and comforting. As you can see from the photos, baby girl thought the same thing. The button placket is different yet a functional accent on this baby gown. My favorite part though is the ability to tie this closed at the feet. I just love that option. I think this helps keep all the warmth inside and around my babe during those cold winter months. My favorite part, however, was the fact that when my girl wore this to bed that night, she slept 5 hours straight! Is there some kind of baby magic in this pattern? There will be more to come in Abigail’s wardrobe as with that extra sleep, mama now has more energy to sew more up. I think this is baby girl’s way of asking for more too!
Larissa and Baby Zachary
Hey! It’s been awhile since I was on the blog! A move in late 2016 meant all my sewing stuff was packed during the summer. Also, as many of you may have known I was expecting a baby boy in February. Well, he had a different plan and arrived on January 27th! Zachary Ryder joined our family in a whirlwind on that Friday! He is the spitting image of his brother. And so far, he is a super chill baby! He is adored by his siblings (and his parents too!), and doesn’t seem to be bothered by the noise or endless love he receives from Mark on a daily basis!
I am so excited to have a baby to sew for! When I had Mark 3 years ago, there were very few baby boy patterns out. Now, there seems to be quite a few, and I’m sure more to come! I tend to have very slim, tall kids, so being able make pants that fit well or shirts that are long enough helps round out their wardrobes of too baggy yet short pants!
When I saw the Peek-a-boo Zipster romper, I knew it would be perfect for the crazy winter weather we have been having here in California! Endless weeks of rain and wind have kept us inside for most of the last 3 weeks. I sewed this one up in fleece to keep him warm while we attempt to get outside for some air in the coming weeks. I followed the pattern and sized up to put this over his clothes. He fits the length of the body well, but the arms and legs are a little long on him, which works to help keep those itty bitty hands and feet warm! The zipper technique in the pattern is quite helpful, especially if you are new to zippers or need a refresher after not sewing for almost a year! I just sewed up the crotch seam, rather than doing snaps, since it will only be worn while we are outside so diaper changes won’t be a big issue. I am now looking for cute boy knits to make some more of these for everyday wearing too!
