The Callie by Simple Life Pattern Company
/While I should start thinking ‘back to school” when choosing new patterns for my daughter, I couldn’t resist trying out the Callie pattern from Simple Life Pattern Company. Callie is a top, dress and maxi pattern with a unique strappy back.
It comes in sizes 2t through 12 and has options for a plain skirt, hem band, ruffle and pockets. I chose to do an extra ruffle because I wanted both fabrics from the bodice to also be at the bottom of the skirt. The bodice looks complex, but was incredibly easy to put together.
Funny coincidence, the last time I sewed a SLPC dress for Pattern Revolution (Jaimesyn), I also used coordinating prints from the Quilter’s Showcase line available at Joann’s! This time, I bought the fabric without a pattern in mind, but I love how the different features of the dress work so well for pattern mixing, so the next time I’m at Joann’s, I might have to browse that section again with my next Callie in mind!
