The Valencia Top and Marabella Tank from New Horizons

Hello! Heather from All Things Katy!, here to review the New Horizons Women’s Marbella Cami and the Women’s Valencia Top. Recently, I’ve been really digging open back top patterns and the New Horizons Women’s Valencia Top is no exception! It’s got a fun, drapey back that is PERFECT for showing off the lacy details of the New Horizons Women’s Marbella Cami.

First, let’s talk about the New Horizons Women’s Valencia Top. Like most New Horizons pdf sewing patterns, this one’s got lots of options! This pattern includes 14 different sizes, four sleeve lengths (cuffed, short, ¾ and long), two shirt hems (banded and hemmed), three different backs (solid, V back and crossover), color blocking option and an optional pocket. Whew- that’s a lot of different looks and combinations from just one pattern! For a point of reference, I sewed up a size six (with #shortgirl mods and graded out waist), crossover back, ¾ sleeves in double brushed poly. I did stray from the pattern slightly by adding a tie back strap (opposed to the included flat back strap).

The New Horizons Women’s Marbella Cami is the perfect lacy accent to wear underneath the Valencia Top. The New Horizons Women’s Marbella Cami pattern includes 14 different sizes and four back options (solid, and three different lace backs). I sewed up a size six (with #shortgirl mods and graded out waist) option two lace back Marbella Cami in cotton lycra and stretch lace.

I love both of these patterns worn together! The New Horizons Women’s Valencia Top is fun and flirty to wear. The New Horizons Women’s Marbella Cami adds a hint of lace with the plenty of coverage (I was able to wear my normal bra, underneath). I love how quickly the cami sewed up and the fact that I didn’t need any special supplies. The top was an equally quick sew and fit perfectly! Sew much fun!

Rebeccas Version:

I was immediately drawn to the Marabella Tank by New Horizons Designs. I love the lace details on the back and I love that there are three different lace options and even a non lace option for the back. As soon as I saw this pattern I started dreaming of a royal blue and white tank that will be perfect for wearing to baseball and soccer games all summer, it’s cool enough to wear in the heat of summer but gives me a bit of style at the stadium.

Okay, I live in the Midwest (I’m not sure about the rest of the world), but here it can be 50 degrees one moment and then I can be sweating the next moment. So, having a way to layer my new tank was especially important and the Valencia top does just that. It shows off the sexy lace on the back of my tank but keeps me warm on a breezy spring day. It really is just what my wardrobe needed. This set will be worn over and over this spring and summer!
