SunKissed Kaftan by Pattern Emporium

It was the end of pool season and a few weeks before cool weather would be settling in when I made my first Sunkissed Kaftan by Pattern Emporium.  Immediately I saw this as a pattern for all seasons . . . . not just sitting in the summer sun.

The first Kaftan I made was with my daughter in mind.  She just had her first child and she will be still breastfeeding when swimmingpool season comes around again . . . and, one or more of my daughters usually claim whatever I’ve sewn -- so I chose side ties as my closure option.  The fabric used here is a paisley lawn from Hobby Lobby.

The leaves started to fall into the pool soon after that so I grabbed some fleece and created my own cool weather version.  I added fringe (well, ok . . .  I snipped around the outside edges to give it a “fringe look”) and stitched the side seams.

The pattern is well written and includes a plethora of information, tips, hacks, and more, both within the pattern as well as at Pattern Emporium.com.

Let your sewmagination help you design the SunKissed Kaftan perfect for your season!

Happy Sewing!
