Fifi Fox Pincushion by Molly and Mama Patterns

I do love the hum of my sewing machine . . . and serger . . . and coverstitch . . . technology has certainly enhanced our creative energies.  On the other hand, I enjoy the warm fire in the living room, my husband sitting next to me, enjoying our favorite binge-worthy television shows.

A break from all that noise, and a step back to the basics, is the reason I chose to create my own Fifi Fox, a hand stitched felt pin cushion template and instruction PDF pattern by Molly and Mama.

The instructions are step-by-step, with pictures at each point along the way.  The writing is lovely -- I felt like I was sitting in her sewing space with her as I followed along.

I chose my own felt colors, printed the one-page template and traced onto freezer paper, gathered my thread, scissors and needles and left my sewing space for the living room. I enjoyed every minute of it.  (I did use my kindle to read the instructions . . . )

I should have moved my table Ott Lite with me for some of the stitching . . . actually, I like that my Fifi Fox is not perfect.  She is completely hand made(!) by me and I am very proud of her.

If you’re not ready to go out into the cold to get supplies for some quiet sewing, we’ve put together a list of supplies we used for this project  http://amzn.com/w/NGKT5JRZJX9D
