The Solis Tunic and Dress by Sofilantjes Patterns

Hello, again! Ren here with a fabulous addition for summer wardrobes: the flirty yet sporty Solis Dress and Tunic by Sofilantjes Patterns. I jumped at the chance to review this one as it is perfect for my daughter’s style. The showpiece back neckline of the Solis drew me in. It is created with a super clever t-strap construction on a fully lined bodice. Additionally there are two skirt options, pleated or circle, in tunic and dress lengths. Regardless of skirt style or length, the pattern also includes in-seam pockets perfect for tiny treasures.

The directions are pretty fabulous, too. So much information all clearly laid out and succinctly written, plus(!) two cheat sheets at the back – one written and one illustrated – so you can skip rereading the full directions on repeated sewings. Love that!

I opted for the pleated version in a tunic length at my daughter’s request. I’m always a sucker for a box pleat and she lives in tunics and leggings; win/win. I sewed a size 4 wide by 6 tall tailored to my girl, and loved (LOVED!) that the pattern allowed me to print those two layers only, making it super easy to draft between the two. Sewn up in a graphic print with shades of her favorite blue, my Peanut is ready for summer fun in her new Solis Tunic!
