Scrap Swap: Whittle your Wovens

Welcome back to Scrap Swap week - where we show off all the scraps we traded here at PR and inspire you to take those scraps and use them up!  Today we are taking a look at small to medium size woven scraps, and what you can do with them.  Check out Carrie, Kara, Gloria, and Larrisa's creations and start sewing up those scraps today!

My woven swap was packed with care by Sarah, who I know added a few goodies that i’d been eyeing from her stash. So again, while I have some things planned for a few pieces I decided to start with this bike messenger bag for my girl. I’ve had this free pattern pinned forever and never got around to sewing it.  Since the 'color your own fabric' that Sarah sent SCREAMED something for Ry I figured what better time. And oh my did she love it! I used only scraps here except for the interfacing and velcro.

I decided that I would do a swap with both knit and wovens, so you will see a post from me in both areas.  I love all of the fabric Suzanne sent me, it is all so fun!  The fabric I used to make the Multi Apron from the One Thimble e-zine, were fat quarters.  I used some of the fabric in my own stash to make the base of the apron but the fat quarters worked out perfectly for the pouches.  I ended up giving the apron to the Assistant in my daughter’s kinder class.  She has to work cafeteria duty so I thought she could really use an apron.  She loved it, I think it turned out pretty cute too.  Also made a pair of Superman lounge pants fro Jocole’s Wide Leg Pants pattern and they are perfect!  I’m so glad Suzanne sent me a package, I just love everything she sent!

Gloria used her woven scraps for three adorable projects - A bobbin bouquet (OMG how cute!), the beautiful Garden Sun Hat by Stitchwerx Designs, and a tools bag for all your sewing necessities!

Larissa used some of her small woven scraps to make adorable hair accessories and her medium scraps to make decorative pillows - Yellow is making me think of spring and the sunshine that is on its way.  What great projects.
