Monaluna Journey Fabric Tour
/Eeek! I am so excited to be on the Monaluna Journey Fabric Blog Tour to share this new fabric collection with you! For those who don't know me, I'm Kari from That's-Sew-Kari. These gorgeous fabrics are part of the Journey Fabric Collection by Monaluna. This desert-inspired collection combines indigo ink illustrations with elements of the Southwest in hues of blues, pinks and coral. The fabrics are 100% organic cotton and offer selections in lawn and poplin.
I knew immediately I would choose from the lawn substrate. Lawn is a lightweight cotton fabric similar to batiste or voile. I had sewn Monaluna lawn for this tutorial last year and the result was light and flowy. Not all of the prints are offered in both lawn and poplin, but my eye was immediately drawn to the gorgeous blue floral fabric, Desert Floral lawn. I paired it with Birdseed Blue lawn for the perfect amount of contrast.
The pattern I chose to showcase this fabric is Alice by Violette Field Threads. It's a halter dress with a gorgeous handkerchief hem skirt. I hadn't sewn Alice before but knew the drape would be so pretty in lawn.
I couldn't leave Grace out so of course, she got a matching dress. They had fun taking their new dresses for a spin.
I am so in love with this fabric combination!! Special thanks to Monaluna for sending me this package of pretties and to Gemia of Phat Quarters for hosting this blog tour. Be sure to check out the other blog tour stops for more Journey inspiration! Plus, enter the giveaway at the end of the post -- LOTS of goodies could be yours!
