Hello there, my name is Amber Lynn and you can find more of my sewing adventures on my Facebook business page called, I Sew Pretty (www.facebook.com/Isewpretty). I have been sewing for 3-5 years and I would say my sewing experience is in between intermediate and advanced.

Today I am sharing my review of the Chapsters by PetitBebeCreatioNZ.  I would rate the pattern's difficulty level about a beginner but with the attention to detail and finished look of an intermediate pattern. The only real semi difficult point for a novice sewer might be the curve (joining the back and front pieces together). The pattern describes the importance of making sure you join the ends together then go slow around the curve to make sure it fits properly. If you happen to get stuck with one end being longer than the other the pattern gives you ways to double check your work.

I personally love the fact that the pattern contains many options and pays lots of attention to details. I appreciate all the hard work that went into making this pattern fantastic. You could almost just look at the photos and be able to make the pattern without reading the descriptions, but I wouldn't recommend that! It is just that well put together.

This pattern can be made from knits, wovens, or both  - which means it is great for everyone. If you are scared of knits, start out with woven and work your way up to knits. I was impressed with the flow/room the pants had. My 2 yr old son is still in diapers these pants weren't too tight on him at all. Also the pattern is versatile enough to work for both boys and girls. The Chapsters would be such a cute way to make some brother and sister matching clothes. The pattern starts from size newborn which can also make a great baby shower gift.

With three different length options, you will be able to sew up this pattern from summer though winter. The waist band contains two construction options: making a casing or using the 'sew and flip' technique. I personally use only the casing method, but with how detailed the instructions were to describe the 'sew and flip' technique, I decided to give it a try. The outcome stitching wasn't perfect, but I was pleased for my first time! It is always nice to step out of your comfort zone and try something different.

I know that time can play an important factor when it comes to sewing something. I have a 5 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy, and I nanny 2 kids during the week. For me, I find it easier to cut after bed time and sew during nap time the next day. With how fast these came together they can easily be cut and sewn during nap time. And the best part about the pattern is the more you make the faster you sew them!!

I am so glad that I was able to review the pattern and make cute 18/24 month dino pants for my little man. His sister usually gets things made by me and he often gets left out. The look on his face was priceless when he saw they were for him. He started to strip off his clothes in the living room with company here just to wear them.

I think he likes them!
