Apron for Girls by My Childhood Treasures

It's that time of year where baking and cooking go hand in hand with family gatherings and holiday celebrations. If you make a lot of handmade clothes, you know how much you want to keep those pretties clean when little hands want to help.  No matter what you're celebrating, this apron fits the bill, especially since you can get it for 20% off by using the code APRON1!  So here's Nichole to share the new Apron for Girls pattern from My Childhood Treasures!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to be here, bringing you a review on the Children's Apron, from My Childhood Treasures. I had been wanting to make an apron for my little girl for a while, so this was just the push I needed. And it is so adorable. Pattern comes in sizes 2-14, fully reversible with two different options.

As always, I'm very pleased when I open up the pdf from My Childhood Treasures. I'm just a big fan of her pattern layouts. Very easy to read along with, I hardly ever find myself needing to scroll back up to see what I've missed. Just a lovely flow. Great pictures coinciding with numbered steps. Not too wordy, just right. :) But lets break it down a little further, shall we?

  • 20 Pages to print...I was a little shocked when I saw there were 20 pages to print. I guess I just wasn't expecting it on an apron. There are pattern pieces for everything, which I know a lot of people prefer. Myself, I like measurements for rectangle items. (sashes, ruffles, etc.)
  • Includes a fabric cutting diagram, which I always appreciate.
  • Size and yardage chart included.
  • Very easy to follow, step by step instructions for options A or B. I choose to make option B, and I made it fully reversible as well by doubling the length of my ruffles to fold in half instead of hem.
  • Apron has an elastic neck band instead of ties, love this. My daughter complains of anything that ties behind her neck, so this was perfect.
  • Pattern includes a handy glossary for sewing terms for any beginners who may have questions.

Overall, very happy with this beginner friendly pattern. Quick little sew, took me about an hour after cutting. Best off, my daughter calls it her "dress apron" and really loves it! She's really looking forward to making some of her favorite Christmas cookies now! And so is mom!!

**My main cupcake fabric came from Joann...one of their "easy wash" fabrics. My trims are the lovely Art Gallery, Emma Grace line.  With a little sprinkling of "vintage garage sale find" ric rac. :)
