Cupcake Top by Sewing Mama RaeAnna

Today we are taking a look at the adorable Cupcake Top by Sewing Mama RaeAnna.  This pattern works for both boys and girls with a great kangaroo pocket for stashing treasures, and an optional ruffle for some girl glam.  You can make this pattern out of any stretch knit from stretch fleece to thin cotton jersey - it is perfect for the ever fluctuating temperatures of spring.

I've made the Cupcake Top as well, and love how quickly it comes together!

We have Rebecca here to share more details with you and her adorable version:

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the Cupcake Top from Sewing Mama Raeanna Patterns.

I love that I can use one pattern for both boys or girls. The simple no frills option is great for anyone and the ruffles are fun for girls who love the frill. For my daughter's Cupcake Top, I chose to keep it simple except for adding the ruffle trim to the bottom. I really love how it came out and she does too.

Some things I loved about this pattern:
  • Handy print reference chart - this tells you what pages you need to print for each size.
  • The pattern had a different color line for each size which was easy to follow.
  • Easy to follow directions.
  • Great pictures.
I'm still a beginner when it comes to using knits, so I was nervous about the neck binding but it was very easy to do. I used a lighter weight knit for the main body, the top will be perfect for spring here.
