The Junie Dress by Brownie Goose

Today we're sharing the latest pattern from brownie-goose. Meet Junie; she's a sweet summer staple with a crossover back trimmed in bias tape. While the tutorial gives awesome directions for making your own bias tape, we know that sometimes you need to save some time,  and we have a SWEET SURPRISE for you! Vintage Door has offered up a coupon code for 15% off bias trims through June 30th. Just use code JUNIE15 at checkout! Now, for the review.

Hey Everyone!  Seasons are changing for almost everyone at this point, and I am so excited for Spring and Summer.  Time for summer sewing!  Today I have a cute summer dress that is just perfect for those hot summer days.

The Junie Dress by Brownie-Goose Designs is designed keeping your girl cool.  The open back is modest yet can catch those summer breezes, the vintage length is perfect for playing as well, the bodice uses a facing to create instead of a full lining to decrease the weight..  Add cute bias tape and an elastic waist and you have an awesome summer sun dress for your girl.  The tutorial is well written and walks you through each step of the way with tips included.  This dress took me about 1.5hrs and is perfect for an advanced beginner.

My little Ruth is wearing a size 18mo and the fit is perfect.  I just can’t get enough of her little knee dimples showing off below the hem.  She wore it all day with ease and comfort.  Even when my best friend came over she exclaimed, “I love that dress!”  This was such a quick and easy sew as well.   I just love it.  The only thing that confused me was printing.  On the first page of the printing file there is a quick access list of what pages to print for what sizes which is handy. The pattern pieces are labeled page 1, 2 etc, but since the chart is actually page 1, you need adjust for that when you select which pages to print.

Overall, I love this dress.  So quick and simple, yet looks so sweet on.  You really can’t go wrong with this dress. It is the epitome of summer!
