Hi, I am Kim from Kimmie Sew Crazy. I am here to share my Carlie’s Dolman for the fabulous EYMM anniversary tour. FYI, EYMM is a PR affiliate and you can find lots of EYMM posts on our site by using the search box. Yep, Eymm has been around for two whole years creating some really great everyday wear patterns. I really had a hard time choosing what pattern to share because I think I do need them all. I went with the Carlie’s Dolman because I thought it would work well for summer and the upcoming fall season. Mila now has more than enough clothes for summer, so fall is now on my sewing list.

I must say that I am completely impressed with the PDF pattern itself! Main reason, no cutting! Tapping and cutting PDF patterns is the worst part of the process for me. I love that EYMM has found a way to cut down on the prep time by eliminating the need to cut the paper edges.

The Carlie’s Dolman has a lot of options! Hi-low hem, cropped hem, a band hem as I have done and the simple hem. Sewing the top itself was so fast and simple. I used this sweater knit from Girl Charlee. It was perfect for this pattern, and the current and following season. I did find the pattern ran a bit big. I used size 12m on Mila but added a bit of length. I did stick with the regular hem on the neckline but there are instructions on how to take it in. Mila does have narrow shoulders, I maybe should have taken it in on the neck but I love the 80’s look with the off the shoulder. She is rockin it, right? : )

I think this top will be great with layering with long sleeves a skirt and tights also. I should have done that for a few pics! I am getting a little excited for cute fall outfits but not so much for the weather change : ) I have gotten so many complements on the shoes Mila is wearing here. No, they were not given to me. But, I did get a great deal so I thought maybe I can pass it on (link).
