Making Pajamas, another of my favorite gifts!

So my favorite posts from last year were our 'The Night Before Christmas' Series.  Not only were there tons of wonderful stories about Christmas Eve traditions, there were tons of fun Pajama's to share.  I have been making PJ's for my kiddos and their cousins for the last three years, and it is a tradition that I hope to keep up for quite a while.

This year with 5 kiddos to sew for, I hit up the flannel racks at Joann's during their Black Friday sales.  Flannel pants are just so soft and comfy.  With flannel in hand I needed a great pant pattern - I knew I wanted them to have a different rise front and back, an elastic waist band, and a contrasting band or cuff.  I also needed size 12m - 6y to fit the range of kiddos I was sewing for.  As I scanned through last year's posts, I realize that the Fishsticks Party PJ pants were exactly what I needed.

I printed out the pattern, taped it together easily, and got to work cutting and sewing 5 pairs of PJ pants in a day.  I love when things just go together so smoothly.

And they are so cute!!!!
The girls got this multicolored reindeer print, I love how it is Christmasy without having to only be worn at Christmas.  For the contrast, I went with a pale pink pinstripe to play off the pink pinstripe reindeer in the print.

For the boys, I picked out this super cute grey and black reindeer print (ummm Joann's calls it a moose but we are going with reindeer, mmmmkay!?!?).  For the contrast I first choose a green snowflake left over from last year's PJ's, but then I remembered how hard it is for my husband to know which pair is for Ash and which pair is for Bex - even if they have size tags (they are a solid size apart).  So back to my stash I went to grab some blue snow balls.

My boys have 3/4 length sleeves, while their cousin's has long sleeves, there is also a long sleeve with cuff option in the Lane Raglan pattern.

Seriously, these pants are so fast and are just adorable.  The fit is loose without being baggy - sorry no modeled pictures since they will unwrap these tomorrow for Christmas Eve, but you can check out the fit in this post

Now I decided to do raglan shirts for the boys since they are quite fast for me to whip up.  I wanted to bring the contrasting band up into the shirt, but raglans are knit.... hmmmmm, what to do???  Well, I decided that I would applique a reindeer to the front of each shirt - I am not great at applique, but I think these turned out sooooooo cute!!!!!!  This is the Lane Raglan from Stitchwerx, I love the fit and how easy it is to sew and change up.  You can check out other Stitchwerx Raglans HERE and HERE.

If you still need Christmas PJ's, I swear you can get these sewn up tonight, or tomorrow morning, or tomorrow afternoon finishing 5 minutes before bedtime - you know, however much of a procrastinator you'd like to be ;o)
