Hello again everyone! Super glad to back reviewing the Whimsy Couture Vintage Baby Romper. I seeked this pattern out to review as soon as I saw it released. I had been looking for a romper I wanted to do for my almost 4 year old. I didn't want something too babyish, and I didn't want her drowning in ruffles. This was perfect!!

I had only a little scrap left of my Dear Stella Whales print left, thankfully just enough! And more than enough of the perfectly matching anchor print. Love me some Hawthorne Threads, which is where I bought my fabric, and most of my stash.

On to the pattern...and why you are here!

First..don't be fooled by the BABY in Vintage Baby Romper. My girl is hardly a baby anymore (sniff, sniff) but I think it's perfect for her. I did choose to shirr around her legs, just give it even more of a bubble look. She doesn't wear a diaper, and is slender, so I felt it looked better shirred than just loose.

Here's the lowdown..

Comes in sizes 3 months - 6 girls
Advanced beginner to intermediate
Pattern pieces for bodice, measurements for the rest.
Options of snap crotch for easy diaper access. ( I didn't use that option)
Sizing and yardage chart (I did add a couple inches to the back bodice piece for extra room to grow)
No front seam on bottom, crotch has curved cut out for the bubbled look.
Clear easy to follow directions with plenty of pictures.
Pattern has direction for elastic casings in sleeves and back bodice. I almost always shirr instead, but decided to do the casings and was very happy.

Changes I made to the pattern are as follows..

I constructed my bodice completely first, then added my gathered romper bottom. Pattern calls for each side to be made separately, (sewing completed fronts and back together). I just prefer to keep all bodice seams enclosed.
Again, I added extra inches to the back bodice for extra room.
Shirred two rows onto the legs above the ruffles.
Added bows
